A TCP UPDATE
Hi, I’m Erin’s Husband Alastair or better known as Al.
As many of you know, we recently lost Erin—my wife and the heart, soul and life-force of Taking Care of Pigment.
She meant the world to me, and I know her passing has touched many of you deeply. The memories, and tributes you’ve shared have shown me just how far her impact reached. I treasure these stories, and they confirm the significance of what she built at TCP for the community, and the importance of continuing her legacy.
To Erin, TCP was more than a clinic—it was a place of positive change and connection, and she often said she had the best job and clients in the world.
Erin was self-motivated and focus driven to deliver her client the best in tattoo & pigment removal. Her love for what she did came through in her personality and the high standard of care she gave her clients. No one will ever replace Erin, she was a one of a kind lady. Now that she is no longer with us, I will carry on her legacy with the same care, dedication, and passion that Erin brought to TCP every day.
As we’ve navigated Erin’s loss, we’ve taken time to carefully reflect on how TCP should move forward. Above all, what matters most is continuing in a way that truly honours her vision—a space unlike any other in the industry, where pigmentation and tattoo clients receive preferential care, where Erin’s signature attention to detail, warmth and great banter live on, and where epic results are achieved with the support of the best technology available.
In the coming months I will be undertaking training for the use of the Pico-way laser and learning all of its capabilities through training from Candela. Erin’s legacy is one I hold dear to my heart and what better way to keep her close than to immersing myself in the clinic she loved and the clients that made it “World famous in Dunedin” for the best Tattoo & Pigment removal.
Introducing Kate
There was only one person that I would have liked to take over treating Erin’s clients and she has graciously accepted the role. Kate Wilson is not only highly qualified, but she is a former colleague, had trained under Erin at a former clinic but most important is a close friend of Erin’s.
There is no one I would trust more than Kate to deliver you the same level of care for your tattoo removal journey at TCP. In fact Erin herself was being treated by Kate for tattoo removal for some she could not reach, and I have too have had the experience of laser removal by Kate.
Kate brings specialised laser and skin expertise, a calm and thoughtful approach, with a genuine care for clients. .
Kate knows her way around the Pico-way laser and has the support from Candela if she needs. It was clear she was the right person to help carry forward the values Erin built here—I know you’ll feel safe and cared for in her very capable hands.

CORRINA
Another important person that I would like to tell you about is Corrina Lyon. Another of Erin’s amazing close friends, she has been instrumental in working in the background for TCP. Between Corrina & Erin they have designed the website that you all have seen, and they have also been working on a new and improved version of the website that we will be rolling out in the coming months. Corrina has played a huge part in helping me with the administration of TCP to get it to the point of us opening the doors once more. Many of you will have had email communication with Corrina and I can assure you she has been with TCP from its inception. Although not known to any of you she has been thrust into the spotlight after the event of losing our beloved Erin.
